URGENT! EPAEPTN Time Change

posted in: News Articles

Much as I regret to do this, it has become necessary to change the starting time for the Eastern Pennsylvania Emergency Phone and Traffic Net.

I realize changing the net time will be an inconvenience for some people and make net participation for others impossible. Due to propagation, it has become necessary.

The 75 Meter Band has been going long every evening after sunset. To compensate for this we will start EPAEPTN at 5 PM Eastern Standard Time. The net frequency will remain 3917 KHz.

If you are unable to check in at 5 PM weekdays, please check in on weekends.

We will begin calling for check ins at 5 PM effective tomorrow, Saturday, November 9th.

I apologize for the inconvenience. We will revert to a 6 PM start when we return to Daylight Savings Time.

Our new net, the Pennsylvania Fone Net, will continue at 8 PM and we will just have to make our best effort during the winter months. Some evenings propagation will permit us to hold the net, other evenings it will be impossible.

Due to a conflict with the Montana Phone Net which has been coming in at 8 PM on 3910, please change the net frequency to 3907 KHz effective Monday November 11th.

Thank you for your cooperation.

George Miller
