The Pottstown Area Amateur Radio Club is proud to announce its return to Evansburg State Park for the 2025 edition of PAARC in the Park, happening on Sunday, May 4th, from 0800 to 1600 (local time)! Following last year’s League of Extraordinary POTA-men, this year’s activation embraces the galactic spirit of Star Wars Day—and you’re invited to join us on the bands and among the trees for a full day of amateur radio, camaraderie, and fun.
This themed activation will once again feature our experienced POTA Jedi Council, guiding attendees through hands-on Parks on the Air (POTA) operations, answering questions, and helping hams of all levels make meaningful contacts.
Meet the 2025 POTA Jedi Council:
Bill “BOBA FETT-ENNA Master” – W3FRB
Greg “DAH-lorian” – WA3GM
Joel “CQ-3PO” – NF3R
Pete “Rove One” – K0BAK
Walt “Sith Lord of QRP” – KB3SBC
Date: Sunday, May 4, 2025
Location: Evansburg State Park
Operating Hours: 0800–1600
Guest Operating Opens at Noon
To ensure our Jedi Masters complete their missions before the chaos of the outer rim sets in, guest operators are kindly asked to hold transmissions until after 12:00 PM. From 0800 to 1200, the Council will operate in scheduled one-hour shifts, offering mentorship and structured interaction.
Fuel Your Inner Force Food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day, so come hungry and ready to enjoy the galaxy’s tastiest snacks while chatting and chasing contacts! Bring your curiosity, your radio gear (if you’d like), and your best sci-fi spirit. Whether you’re logging contacts, exploring the POTA universe for the first time, or just there to soak in the atmosphere—there’s a frequency for everyone. Don’t miss this unforgettable blend of amateur radio and fandom!
Come for the contacts—stay for the galactic vibes. May the 4th be with you!
