I’m pleased to announce that Jay Silber, WA2UAR of Philadelphia is assuming the role of Public Information Coordinator for the Eastern Pennsylvania Section of the American Radio Relay League.

Jay is a former television journalist (WCAU-TV) with a decades long career as a multimedia producer, instructional designer, and social media creator. He currently co-produces and hosts a YouTube channel with nearly 170,000 subscribers.

Jay also served as an elected official in Montgomery County for 10 years and later as a Special Assistant for Communications and Technology to then Acting Governor, Mark Singel.

As PIC for Eastern Pennsylvania, Jay will focus on building a team of Public Information Officers to help in our outreach effort to grow Amateur Radio. One key focus will be on developing stories our television and radio station can use that show ham radio as an important, vibrant and forward-looking segment of American society.

Ultimately, Jay will be managing social media sites on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube that will help grow our community.
