Lancaster County Hams Stand Up a “Welfare Net” Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

posted in: Announcements, Repeater

3/18/20 – Recognizing the need to keep the local Amateur Radio community engaged, informed, and communicating amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 Pandemic, local Hams from Lancaster County have organized a “Welfare Net”.

The purpose of the “Welfare Net” is to provide a familiar place for local Hams to share their experiences and observations from the community. Also, the net will help us be aware of our fellow hams and their family members who may be shut in due to more serious medical concerns such as compromised immune health. The more people aware of each others welfare, the better!

The net is open to all amateurs in the listening area of the W3RRR repeater, 147.015 (+) PL 118.8, starting each evening at 1945 local time, and will continue daily for as long as necessary. The net time may change according to demand. Updated information will be posted on the Red Rose Repeater Association’s Facebook Page.

Please drop in to share your experiences and offer your support as we look out for each other during this global time of concern.
