EPA-ARRL is pleased to announce the appointment of David Corey, KC3AX, of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania as the ARRL emergency coordinator for Wayne County’s newly established Amateur Radio Emergency Service program.
An official presentation was made Monday evening at the monthly meeting of the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club in Waymart. Wayne County Commissioner Jonathan Fritz was on hand to welcome Corey to his new position.
ARES expects to work closely with county emergency management officials and be ready to assist if needed.
Commissioner Fritz was impressed by the passion displayed by the Amateur Radio Operators and said, “Wayne County will be well served by Corey and the dedicated members of his team.”
A long-time resident of Wayne County, Corey has been an amateur radio operator more than twenty years and is recently retired. Corey’s service to the county has a long history having served as the county radio officer.
