It will be a very big weekend for amateur radio operators and scouts
worldwide this weekend (October 16-18, 2020).
Jamboree on the Air is upon us and I have some pointers to give stations more success. Every band is open to this event and every mode, so make sure we all set up our stations to your comfort. I, for instance, am just a beginner with HF bands, so I personally will be using DMR Brandmeister talkgroups as well as Allstar and Echolink.
Some stations might want to go on contest free bands for better chances to connect scouts to ragchew with other scouts and scouters.
It is also a great idea to have some self service stations in case your
station has a high volume of scouts. Possibly an SDR dongle or two.
maybe a web SDR station, or even a couple Morse code keys would all be great.
There is also a JOTI (jamboree on the internet) that can lead to a great self service station. Please be sure to be safe and use proper CDC and K2BSA guidelines to sanitize your stations and promote hand sanitizer and masks.
You can find the suggested scout calling frequencies here:

For more detailed information on all the JOTA tac channels on
Brandmeister, you can find them here or on the Brandmeister 907 Facebook group:

I hope this helps everyone with their JOTA stations. If you have any
questions, please reach out to me at WS3RIC@…. don’t forget to reach out to your local newspapers and get scouting and radio out in the public eye. Listen out for me with the Penn Wireless Club station special event call W3B on Saturday.
