Field Day 2025 is drawing to a close as this is posted on Sunday morning. The biggest operating event of the year is in the books. It was a hot and humid day, but basically the weather was cooperative. Yes, there were some patchy rains in spots, but nothing to cause much concern. The bands were not in great shape and for much of the day, 20 meters was the most dependable band. There was a lot of activity crowded into that relatively small operating window which was frustrating to many. The static crashes during the evening and early morning on 40 and 75/80 meters were challenging.
We really appreciate the hard work and effort of all who participated in the big show. The work and dedication were very obvious. My report is a brief one. It took all of the day and a large part of the evening to visit 5 club sites spread over Bucks, Montgomery and Delaware Counties. As usual, my planned schedule was impossible to keep on time. I ran more than 5 hours late. That’s understandable as we are ham radio operators and we love to talk.
