The September 2023 issue of QST will feature a student-written article entitled “High School Students Thrive from Ham Radio Curriculum.” The school club, KC3JND, at Council Rock High School South in Bucks County, will be featured on the front page of the amateur radio journal.

Four Frankford Radio Club and Warminster ARC members Bill Ballatine-K3FMQ, Irwin Darack-KD3TB, Joe Horanzy-AA3JH and Andy Vavra-KD3RF have donated many hundreds of hours of personal time as technical advisors with the school club since 2014 and led to the club building a ham radio station with a full range of HF, VHF, UHF and satellite communications capabilities during the past year.

The high school club had 70 members this past academic year and recently graduated seven new Technician licensees and two students who upgraded to a General class license in June. Back in October last year the club station was the recipient of equipment donated by Alexander Aimette-W2OX and put to good use.
