May 10, 2020 – Over the past years the Skywarn group has changed in membership and coverage area. I have always strived to expand the efforts in reporting, training and information. This group of amateur radio operators gathers and reports weather and storm data to the National Weather service.
Started over 15 years ago, meeting Wednesday nights at 9 PM using the 145.110 MHZ, with a 131.8 tone repeater in Dauphin County as the Harrisburg Area Skywarn Group, we have experienced substantial growth and moved to cover 13 counties in Central Pennsylvania. This week the staff has decided to change the name to one that that represents the group’s outlook. Therefore, the name has changed to the Central Pennsylvania Skywarn Group.
Please have your club’s web site note the new name and invite the members to join in each week. Please follow us on Facebook and IO group’s services.
