The Eastern Pennsylvania Section of the ARRL is comprised of 34 counties spread out over a large geographical area.
Even though we have some great staff members like W.T. Jones, WN3LIF, Tom Mills, AF4NC, and Bob Josuweit, WA3PZO, who do a great job travelling to many club meetings and Hamfests they live in the eastern part of the Section and it is asking a lot of them to try and cover the entire thirty four county Section.
And so, in order to try and provide our members a more geographical representation in the Section I am pleased to announce the appointment of two new Assistant Section Managers.
Andy Shecktor, N3OMA, has been appointed as a new Assistant Section Manager. Andy he lives in Snyder which is in Snyder County. He has been a long time District Emergency Coordinator in District 4, and many of you have probably seen him at a number of the hamfests in that area.
Riley Hollingsworth, K4ZDH, has additionally been appointed as an Assistant Section Manager. Riley lives in Gettysburg, which is in Adams county. Riley brings a wealth of knowledge to the staff having served in the FCC Amateur Enforcement Division for a number of years.
I have also appointed Tom Mills, AF4NC as the new Section Traffic Manager. This is in addition to his role as an ASM.
On a different subject, in my last email I mentioned the arrl.org website and the epa-arrl.org site. After discussing with the staff we are only going to maintain one site: www.epa-arrl.org as our main source of news for the Section updates.
If you haven’t visited the site in a while, I invite you to check it out. It has been redesigned, and we have even interfaced it to social media. If you want to keep up with our posts scroll to the bottom of any page and either follow directly by entering your email address in the box on the lower left side, or click the Facebook or Twitter options.
Also, while you are there if you would like to see a detailed map of the Section you will see a recent post titled “EPA Counties Map” that will show you the Section map with our Districts and the counties that comprise them.
