EPAEPTN and PFN Nets

EPAEPTN

Changing the starting time for the Eastern Pennsylvania Emergency Phone and Traffic Net (EPAEPTN) to 5PM is working out well. Propagation seems good at that time. If you can, join us at 5PM. Don’t be afraid because this is a traffic net. If you’d like to learn, we’re here to help you.

I still need volunteers for Net Control Stations on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening’s. experience is not necessary. We will be glad to help you. If you can help by taking NS any of the evenings I listed, please contact me.

PFN

The Pennsylvania Fone Net is doing well. We’ve had a few rough evenings due to propagation but everyone is hanging in there and we’ve had several highly successful nets. Please join us any Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday on 3910 KHz at 8PM. If propagation is rough and 3910 KHz is in use, look up and down from that point. I try to stay close to the published frequency, but if that frequency is in use we use the closest available frequency.

If you can’t check in right at 8PM don’t think you’re late. You’re not late for the net until the NCS closes the net.

As promised, we will begin training next Monday, November 18th. I’ll keep each lesson brief and will answer any questions. Please join us.

If you have any questions about our nets or the EPA Section, please contact me.

My goal for 2020 is Communications. It’s important that we establish channels for communication. We need to have a channel from you to me and from me to ARRL HQ. We’ll cover more on this subject in another Blog post.

Thanks for your time
